Brisbane racing gets underway this morning at 11:34am (AEST) and the exciting nine-race program continues through until the fillies and mares face off in the Listed $150,000 Magic Millions Helen Coughlan Stakes at 4:34pm (AEST).
The first Group race on the line-up is scheduled as Race 3 when the undefeated Ayrton is at short-odds to salute in the Group 3 Fred Best Classic (1400m) before tackling the 2021 Stradbroke Handicap in a fortnight.
The richest race on the card is the Group 2 $1 million BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) for the J.J. Atkins-bound two-year-olds and it is another undefeated youngster in the Robert Heathcote-trained Prince Of Boom tipped to take out the million-dollar feature.
Elite level racing kicks off with Race 7 at 3:18pm (AEST) and it is a class field gathered for the Group 1 $600,000 Queensland Derby over the mile and a half.
The 2021 Queensland Derby odds online at Ladbrokes.com.au favour the gun three-year-old of the season, the ATC Derby – SA Derby champion Explosive Jack who dominates the markets on the capacity field.
The meeting’s marquee race follows with the Group 1 $700,000 Kingsford-Smith Cup over 1300m set to run as Eagle Farm Race 8 at 3:58pm (AEST).
The Kingsford-Smith Cup field is down to 15 starters with the withdrawal of the widely-drawn Imaging for Chris Waller who had the outside alley.
Kingsford-Smith Cup 2021 betting at Ladbrokes.com.au is tipped to be a two-horse affair between Godolphin’s classy mare Savatiano and South Australian star Gytrash who is out to atone for his first-up third in The Goodwood.
